The Short North, a colorful and active community just north of downtown Columbus, features art galleries, specialty shops and some of the city’s best coffee houses and nightclubs. German Village, a historic neighborhood south of downtown, has been named one of America’s Great Places in the Neighborhoods category by the American Planning Association. Its brick-lined streets and sidewalks, quaint shops and fantastic restaurants make this a favorite destination among both tourists and residents.

Head downtown and you’ll find COSI, one of best children’s science museums in the country. Don’t forget a trip to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium in the suburb of Powell, consistently ranked as a premier zoo and a great outing for families.

If music is your thing, look no further than Central Ohio – one of the best entertainment scenes in the Midwest. Schottenstein Center near Ohio State’s campus features performances by today’s hottest music stars, and other venues like Newport Music Hall and Lifestyle Communities Pavilion offer concerts for almost every taste.

Sports lovers won’t find a better town for variety, with The Ohio State Buckeyes leading the charge among fans. NHL fans will enjoy games at Nationwide Arena cheering on the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Huntington Bank Field offers fans of minor league baseball team Columbus Clippers a true ballpark experience. Don’t forget the Columbus Crew where loyal fans gather to support Central Ohio’s MLS team, which has a long record of winning and won the championship in 2008.
